Scourge forces held the city for a time, but abandoned it after the depletion of its resources. Though the city was attacked by the Scourge, the undead left the buildings mainly intact. For a time the city was a ghost town empty except for dead plants, the occasional body sprawled across the cobblestones and mournful elven spirits.
The only visitors to the city were treasure hunters in search of any valuable artifacts that the elves left behind before they deserted the city, but the ghosts of Silvermoon's past inhabitants made stealing difficult.
Following the events of The Sunwell Trilogy , Silvermoon was retaken by the blood elves with the aid of new magics taught to them by Grand Magister Rommath returned fromOutland with the teachings of Prince Kael'thas, and the secret protection of Anveena, avatar of the Sunwell.
With the new powers the blood elves reconstructed the eastern half of the city restoring it to much of its former glory, the western half, however, still lies in ruins in the hands of the Wretched. What happened to the ghosts of the high elves that haunted the ancient halls is not yet known. A great deal of arcane energy has been used. Chained crystals, full to the top with harnessed magic, now dot the city and power up all the various magical contrivance, including many floating spires and castles.
Since the blood elves are cut off from the rest of civilization by the dangerous Plaguelands, an Orb of Translocation has been made connecting Silvermoon to Undercity. Warlocks and paladins get their training from their trainer at level 20, and Death Knights are always made with level 40 riding already learned. Simply ask a guard for directions by right-clicking them, and selecting "Class Trainers" and "Warlock". An arrow will appear on your map towards the trainer. Note that a warlock can train with any Warlock trainer, regardless of race.
It does not need to be a blood elf per se. In Darnassus, the riding trainer can be found in the Cenarion Enclave at the North-east part of the city, where the Druid, Rogue and Hunter trainers are. When facing the bank, turn right and ride across the bridge. You will see a few saber cats standing around with some Night Elves; one of them is the trainer, the other sells the mounts.
Go outside of Silvermoon and turn left. There will be a little sanctum place called Thuron's Livery over there and there are striders of all different colors outside. You get the mounts there. A cycle trainer is someone that helps an individual learn, and perfect bicycle riding for those that are planning a bike competition or bike marathon. There are many jobs that include horses from care and maintenance to breaking and riding.
Some of these jobs are farrier, veterinarian, horse trainer, riding instructor and many others. They should however be very familiar with details on many breeds of horses, as well as have experience riding them.
When you enter the city, there will be two guards. Talk to them and they will tell you exactly where any of the trainers are and mark them on your map. To summon the Felsteed, the warlock must be level When you learn the spell from your Warlock trainer, you will automatically learn the riding skill Apprentice Riding at the same time. If the rider is inexperience then they should get more riding done before they try to ride a green broke horse, and they trainer should know if the rider is experienced enough to ride the horse.
Once you hit Level 60, you can get a flying mount from Orgrimmar or Stormwind as well as some other out-of-place locations. Ask a city guard for a profession trainer, then ask for the riding trainer. If you don't have it you could be majorly screwed if there was an accident and you were held responsible.
