I am trying to get ahead and stay on top of the game. I wish I had found you earlier in the semester! Spending more time under the surface than above it lately so I am grateful to have found a way to help me actually LEARN! I am terrified of having to repeat orgo 1 but IF that happens, I will do so much better having now found your helpful website!
Thank you so much for creating this resource for so many students! I had presentation today on factors affecting acidity and basicity. Finally thank u so much my friends say I m more talkative Hope my comment was not so lengthy. So I just transferred from a community college to george Mason university and got last pick when it came to professors. I was extremely worried about organic chemistry because of all the negativity around the subject, but I find this subject so fun to try and understand every step.
Granted, I work extremely hard at it because I want to be a doctor one day and know the importance of this class. Thank you! I truly love it and helping students learn.
Great to hear from you Laura! Glad to help, Veanna! Keep working through it! The key is to not just memorize, but ask questions and really work to understand.

Your videos and notes already make my life much easier, so thanks a lot…. Your stereo chemistry videos had been of great help to me. Kudos for good work.
Hi Lean….. I am doing this for my daughter. She is taking organic chemistry I. However, she thinks this class is very confusing and not doing good in the class. I know she is trying very hard.
I have a BS in chemistry 30 years ago. I try to help her. But I have start over because the timing. Thanks for the videos. I have brain tumor and go thru the surgery in September this year while I was laid off on the same month.

Success Stories If you are scared of Orgo like I was, don't be. Don't get me wrong, you still have to put in the time, but using this method to learn the reactions is just amazing.
If you are taking Orgo 1, I highly recommend this study site. Check out Brainscape's certified MCAT flashcard class for organic chemistry, as well as our Organic Chemistry flashcards that have been created by thousands of other users. There's a huge amount of memorization; it requires learning and applying flexible rules ; and with more than 15 million compounds to work with, there is essentially an infinite number of possible organic reactions The day-to-day work of orgo students revolves around arrow-pushing : a technique of diagramming molecules that uses arrows to represent the movement of electrons as chemical reactions take place.
Instead, experts recommend that you treat learning organic chemistry like learning a language. Instead of worrying too much about memorizing every single rule, focus on the big picture. Look for patterns, and work to build associations between linked concepts and processes. Strive for the implicit language learning skills that children are so good at. Practice is essential for mastering skills like language and organic chemistry.
So, there you have it.
